Newport Old Timey Session

The Newport Old Timey Session is a fun way to learn old-time and bluegrass tunes and songs - and meet a bunch of people who like this stuff as much as you!

It runs on a few principles that make it different from a standard old-time session:

Leaders: Bruce Williams and Noel Landry

Bruce Williams has been a member of the Newport Fiddle and Folk Club for over 11 years.

He plays guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and a smattering of dobro.

Originally hailing from the Deep North of Canada, Noel Landry has been a Newport local for 10 years. A passionate flatpick guitar player and occasional yodeller, he prefers to live life in the keys of G and C exclusively.

When: Third Monday of each month, 7:30-9:30pm. See events calendar for dates.

Venue: Newport Community Hub, 13 Mason St Newport (Mechanics Hall - use main Library entrance off Paine Reserve).

Cost: $5 / $3 NFFC members.
